Reportage and documentary style Yorkshire wedding photographers based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

I moved up north to Leeds in Yorkshire 4 years ago with my wife Tracey and two kids Carlos & Kayah after living all my life in London to get away to pastures new with clean air and the stunning Yorkshire Dales countryside.

I still travel back and forth covering the whole country for weddings and events across the UK but really love my locality and the beautiful scenic surroundings that Yorkshire has to offer.

I first fell in love with photography at junior school where my teacher created a darkroom for all the kids and showed us all the magical process of how images miraculously appeared on paper and my love for photography began it’s course. I can never thank this amazing teacher enough for what he stirred in me back when I was only 8 years old.

My first avenue into photography was working for the regional press at Dimbleby Newspaper group covering press events and gave me a grounding into the news World that paved the way for my style of journalistic photography.

I founded my brand in 2000, following a time as a press, portrait and event photographer. This included working with celebrities and Royalty with Famous Agency. I’ve had work published in numerous magazines including Now, Hello and Womans’ Own, and also produced PR work for BBC Picture Publicity and other clients.

In more recent years I’ve decided to concentrate on the wedding market since the natural, reportage style came into vogue. People no longer wanted just traditional formal group photographs (which I DO still take but try and do them sparingly but also realise the importance of these shots!). I embraced this change with open arms, using skills honed over the years from press work.

I don’t go big on effects and style fads (eg filters) with my images as this tends to date them and in 10 years time you’ll realise how they’ve aged. Instead, I use a technique that gives you vibrant, high quality, classy looking photographs that will (I know this is cliche but) stand the tests of time.

I also love creating dramatic portraits with my studio lights and off camera flash techniques for ambient epic images with that certain wow factor!

Also, the last few years I’ve also enjoyed covering Bar/Bat Mitzvahs; capturing all the fun, action and excitement as it unfolds in these very special ‘coming of age’ lifetime events.

I’m a lover of good coffee, single malt whiskies and long walks out in the woods near where we live or Cow and Calf in Ilkley. Also, when the sun shines I’m a bit partial to pub gardens and a nice Staropramen.
