Saltaire United Reformed Church wedding and Victoria Hall Saltaire Wedding Photography

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of covering the lovely Faye & Jason’s Yorkshire wedding in the Saltaire United Reformed Church, the first wedding they’ve had there since before lockdown as they sadly had major renovations to sort out before they could safely hold a wedding ceremony there. So I was really privileged to be the first Yorkshire wedding photographer allowed in there after so long.

Saltaire Village was the perfect backdrop for a Yorkshire wedding; named after the infamous Sir Titus Salt and owner of Salts Mills textile factory back in the 1800’s who designed the whole village using ornate Italianate architecture for all it’s workers to inhabit. Now a very quaint, trendy village with the arty Salts Mills galleries at it’s epicentre and the well kept Roberts Park with it’s gardens and canal running at the bottom of it…which I happened to take Faye & Jason down for a stroll with their much loved German Shepherd dog, Gunther after their wedding ceremony!

I started off my day though meeting Jason and his groomsmen at the well known Fanny’s Ale House in Saltaire for some Dutch courage before the church which was just around the corner, a 5 minute walk from the Saltaire United Reformed Church. What an amazing building to cover a wedding at, Saltaire church really did feel a special place indeed and then on to their reception held at the Victoria Hall which was literally within a stones throw…no driving off to another venue for the next part of their day. It was all in close proximity so the flow of their wedding day really was seamless and perfect.

At Victoria Hall, a very special addition to Faye & Jason’s wedding day speeches was their gender reveal for their baby due in a few weeks time-such an emotional moment and not a dry eye in the room!

Faye & Jason came out for a little bit of air and golden hour wedding portraits in the late afternoon and we had loads of fun….Jason insisted on going to the local corner shop and getting Cornetto ice creams which they devoured while I took fun portrait shots of them both! They even posed outside Saltaire Bridal shop for a laugh. They really were such a fun couple to share the day with-makes the day go so nicely when you realise the couple you’re shooting are just as mad as yourself :)

Here’s my selection of favourite wedding photographs from their day anyway!
