Yorkshire Wedding Venues

Real Weddings at Top Yorkshire Wedding Venues…

As weddings get back to normality and I start shooting again, you’ll see examples of real weddings taken in the Yorkshire area on this page down below.

First up is Bowcliffe Hall.

Bowcliffe Hall Bramham, in Yorkshire.

I recently had the pleasure of covering an amazing picturesque country house wedding in Yorkshire for the lovely Debs & Paul at the prestigious Bowcliffe Hall in Bramham.

They’d been planning their wedding for a long long time due to the pandemic throwing it’s proverbial spanner in the works and they ended up throwing their ‘micro wedding ‘ with under 30 guests and it ended up a perfect wedding day indeed and you’d never have known it was such a small gathering with the fun that was had! Speaking of 30, Debs & Paul had actually been together just over 30 years so it was an event a long time coming indeed. Debs (a financial planner) and Paul (a pilot) were such an amazing couple together and so ‘IN LOVE’ as you can tell by some of the intimate wedding portraits shown in the wedding gallery below.

Dancing was luckily allowed on the day as Bowcliffe Hall had an outdoor open air marquee type structure so the fun and the mood wasn’t dampened one bit by the covid rules. All the guests had so much fun it was a truly a joy to be part of it all after spending so long in lock down without any weddings!

Anyway, here’s my favourite selection of images from their day…

The Bridge Hotel & Spa, Wetherby Yorkshire

The Bridge Hotel and Spa features on my latest ‘Real Wedding’

The other day I had the pleasure of covering Vicky & Chris’s wedding at The Bridge Hotel & Spa in Wetherby.

It was a close call on the day as the couple had been planning an outdoor gazebo ceremony on the grounds of the hotel and also a BBQ style wedding breakfast held in the courtyard.

As luck would have it, the sun burst out from behind the grey blanket of clouds and shone it’s rays as Vicky walked down the outdoor ceremony aisle! I love capturing emotion at weddings and the wedding breakfast and speeches were filled with such emotion and love it truly was a pleasure and privilege to be part of and be a fly on the wall to discreetly capture in silent mode!

Highly charged emotion led on to fun and frolics on the dancefloor as Vicky, who's family were from Argentina and Chris from the Yorkshire area joined together in the Argentinian tradition of cotilión argie dancing which involves putting on silly hats and dancing around!

I want to say a big thank you to the staff at the Bridge Hotel & Spa for looking after me on the day and making everything run to clockwork. Looking forward to coming back one day soon!

The Mansion Roundhay Park

I wanted to include The Mansion in Roundhay park for those of you wanting a stately home venue conveniently close to the city (15 mins away)  but yet nestled in the greenery of the park so you get the best of both worlds.
Steeped in history, this Grade II listed building is set in over 700 acres of gorgeous parkland, overlooking lakes and woodland, perfect for your wedding photography backdrops.
They host a variety of events at The Mansion, including weddings, corporate events and private parties; comfortably seating 134 guests for dinner in The Mansion room, with a maximum capacity of 220 standing for a party or evening reception.
The Mansion, which is a Greek style Palladian style building has now established a name for itself as one of Leeds’ unique wedding & events venues which is packed with period features like the magnificent sweeping grand staircase complete with a 54,000 crystal elegant chandelier. This, along with the carved mahogany banister and customisable internal lighting, provides the perfect ambience and setting for your celebration.

Denton Hall Ilkley

A stones throw away from the infamous Cow & Calf rocks in Ilkley, Denton Hall is surrounded by 2500 acres of parkland and outstanding views across the wharfe. You can’t get more ‘Yorkshire’ than this in my opinion! With its rugged beauty nestled in the midst of ‘gods own country’. Inside Denton Hall, the 18th century décor, crystal chandeliers, wood panelled bar, stunning spiral staircase, elegant stylish  dining room with and  26 bedrooms, make Denton the ideal venue for those who seek luxury in the middle of Yorkshire Dales. All weddings at Denton are held on Saturdays and are fully exclusive - the Hall is yours from the Friday at 4pm through to the Sunday at Noon. They have no minimum numbers for catering, their maximum for the wedding breakfast is 100 and for the evening, 160. They also have a civil ceremony licence plus the delightful St Helens Church just outside their front gates for those seeking a traditional church wedding an an alternative and then back to the Hall for reception. Also included in the hall hire is the use of one of their stunning civil ceremony rooms and the Bridal suite for the night of the wedding.Their imposing south-facing frontage offers brides and grooms sweeping panoramic  views for miles around, acting as a unique vantage point for the famous Ilkley Moor and of course Cow & Calf Rocks.

Carlton Towers

Carlton Towers is a gem of a wedding venue,  resembling a Victorian country house but if you look closely you’ll come to realise it’s steeped with history and is much MUCH older.
Built in 1684, the three-storey, Jacobean style Carlton Hall was completely rebuilt by the widow of Brain Stapleton who put her blood sweat and tears into making it the stunning building it is today and may even have some of the features left from the medieval house who inherited the house way back in 1301.
The long wing on the right was added around  1777 by Thomas Stapleton probably to the design of Thomas Atkinson of York.
Carlton Towers is an exemplary example of one of the best preserved Gothic Revival buildings.
With 2 Beaumont talbot hounds on banners painted with the Stapleton lion and the ‘lion de Brienne’ of the Beaumont Arms guard the sweeping stone staircase which leads to Carlton Towers’ front door, and  the prominent Clock Tower features a balustrade with the family motto ‘Meulx Serra’, OId French for ‘It will be better’.
It is this unique combination of the imposing exterior and exquisite interior that makes Carlton Towers at once a spectacular and intimate venue.
A spectacular backdrop for your wedding photography, high class accommodation for you and your wedding guests, the finest highest quality food and drink & your own dedicated wedding team. Carlton Towers will seamlessly put together your perfect dream wedding day you deserve.
You and your guests will be enchanted by the elegance and beauty of this 17th century hidden gem. Set in 250 acres of parkland, Carlton Towers is an historic treasure – and it is all yours for the most special day of your life. With exclusive use of the house and gardens, you and your guests will love exploring. From the epic grandeur of the staterooms to the informality of the bar tucked under the Minstrels’ Gallery, it is filled with secrets to discover.

Broughton Hall, Skipton

Broughton Hall dates back to 1597 and has belonged to the Tempest Baronet family who have been established in the area for over 900 years.
With its sumptuous Green Drawing Room, the impressive Library, and the warm Red Drawing room provide guests with a perfect backdrop for events and weddings.
The grade 1 listed Hall dates back to 1597 and combines the work of several architects including the renowned William Atkinson, who was also responsible for the impressive Durham Cathedral. Home to the Tempest Family for 900 Years. The Broughton Hall Estate has been the home of the Tempest family since 1097 and enjoys a rich history stretching back over the Millennium.
