Raven Hall Wedding Photographers Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Michelle & Matthew’s wedding at Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar, Scarborough, North Yorkshire was not any ordinary wedding. Matthew was from the RAF and Michelle worked for the Royal Mail and they both met on Bumble (which was explained during the speeches) so all the little details scattered around the reception venue really did make their wedding unique!
We met earlier in the year to do some engagement portrait photographs which you’ve probably seen in my blog. I do excuse the delay in posting their wedding but have had family emergencies etc. to deal with so my time has been limited. But at last, I’m happy to be posting their lovely Yorkshire wedding held at Raven Hall.
As expected the weather was totally different to our time we had shooting the above engagement shoots but it was the run-up to Christmas on the North Yorkshire Scarborough coast so we didn’t really expect glorious sunshine.
What an amazing awe inspiring backdrop for wedding photographs we had though, nestled above 6oo foot high cliffs it gave us a stunning vista looking out over Robin Hood’s Bay and the sea beyond. It’s no surprise that Raven Hall Hotel is notably one of the leading wedding venues along the North Yorkshire coast.
The couple had two ceremonies on the day. The first one was the legal part undertaken by North Yorkshire registrars, the second was a humanist ceremony, giving a very intimate and personal wedding ceremony complete with the ‘tying of the knot’ tradition, which I’d never been a witness to so it was a nice touch to have this included in their day.
Parents from both sides of the bride and groom partook in wrapping their hands together with different coloured ribbons.
Both the ceremony and Ceildh dancing in the evening was held in the far end of the venue which is a very ambient and classy looking barn, adournded with fairy lights from wall to wall. I never would have known this barn part of the building was newly built as it really did seem old and steeped with character.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings as I know you want to see a selection of my favourite images from their day!
